What is a traverser?

A traverser is a device used to move an inkjet printhead across an object to be printed. All of the traversers on this site have been designed for use with Domino A-Series inkjet printers, and have the following features:

• Electric Drive offers programmable acceleration and deceleration which will not cause problems with the printhead or conduit which can be experienced with pneumatic systems

• Improved print quality due to smooth movement and the 'virtual encoder' function, on some models,which scales print during acceleration and deceleration

• Safety - low powered axes minimise the risk of injury
• Reduced running costs due to low current drives, substantially cheaper to run than pneumatic devices
• Simple installation as traversers can be mounted on standard Domino mounting sytstems

History

Scottish Robotic Systems have been building systems using Domino Inkjet Printers for over 20 years, and for over 5 years have been offering standard Traversers. Scottish Robotic Systems are a machine building company based in Perth, Scotland, UK and have been established since 1984.
